Upon successful completion of the Business Office Operations program, the student will have been trained in the skills needed to perform touch-typing at 45 wpm; to understand the operation of a Windows-based computer, use of the Internet, and use of e-mail; to use correct business English; to perform basic business math; to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint for business communications and information management; to perform 10-key data entry; to understand the basic procedures of operating a business office; to operate common business machines; and to communicate effectively in a professional business environment and in searching for employment. The student will also have assembled a Personal Portfolio of samples of his/her work that is a graduation requirement of this program and is intended to assist the student in successfully competing for a job.Having successfully completed the Business Office Operations program, students may qualify for a variety of entry-level positions such as Receptionist, Secretary, Customer Service Representative, or Clerk.
